Buck Robinson

Private 807479 · D Company, 28th (Māori) Battalion · Wounded, Italy 1945
Early life
Theodore Whuia Wharaki Robinson, known as Buck, came from Wainui, on Akaroa Harbour, the son of Theodore Percival Robinson. He was farming when he enlisted, and his mother, Mrs M. Robinson of Barrys Bay, was his next of kin.
War
Buck sailed with D Company in 1944 and is in the back row of the 12th Reinforcements D Company photograph. He was wounded in Italy, and his name appeared in a casualty list in March 1945, probably for the fighting on the Senio. The same list named two other D Company men, George Perawiti and Warren Pahia Stephens.
After the war
Buck went into a carrying business with his father as T. P. Robinson and Son of Little River, carting for the Wairewa Dairy Company. The family farmed at Wainui and Little River.
